Calling All Artists

The Granite Guy is considering issuing a Call For Submissions to central Illinois Artists who desire to participate in a granite sculpting competition with cash prizes. Who determines whether or not it grows from a nifty idea to reality? YOU do!

We're considering four categories, each with an entry fee to match:
   Small -- up to 18 inches tall or wide   -- $10
   Medium -- 18 tp 48 inches tall or wide -- $15
   Large -- 48 inches and larger -- $20
   Flat/Mosaic -- 36 inches minimum dimension -- $25

Flat/Mosaic entries may be set into the ground in sand or Quickcrete and against walls. Granite must be the only medium used. Steel reinforcement is permitted.

All granite used by registered participants will be provided free of charge by The Granite Guy. All entries will remain the property of the artists who create them. We are considering inviting all to display their creations, when practical, at The Granite Guy showroom where they may be offered for sale. All proceeds from sales will belong to the artists. Judges, entry deadline and awards date are indefinite in mid-August, though early June, 2009 seems likely.
